What we're
actually doing.
Ascent takes durable, well-run businesses whose website undersells them, and rebuilds that first impression into one that matches the real thing.
Most small-business sites are built on WordPress or a drag-and-drop template. They work, but they're heavy: slow to load, clumsy on phones, and stuffed with plugins that break and need babysitting. Visitors feel that lag, and on a phone most of them leave before the page even finishes loading.
I build differently. Your site is a Next.js application served from a global edge network, which is a technical way of saying it loads in about a second anywhere, on any device. Your content lives in Sanity, a clean editor you can update yourself. Change your hours, add a photo, post an update, all without calling a developer or paying for the privilege. The whole thing is plain code in a repository you own, so there's nothing proprietary holding you hostage. Lighter, faster, and genuinely yours.
Ascent is a small business, run by one person, and that is the point.
You work directly with me from the first call to launch day. No account managers, no junior handoffs, no agency markup. Just real attention, a fair flat price, and a website that feels made for you because it was.
